WindShape Systems – Cutting-Edge and Globally Unique Wind Testing Solutions
WindShape has developed a revolutionary technology in the field of aerodynamic testing and drone evaluation: the WindShaper. This system is the only one of its kind worldwide, offering unmatched capabilities for simulating complex atmospheric conditions in a laboratory environment. The entire platform is based on modular design and advanced control software, allowing unprecedented precision and flexibility.
WindShaper: Modular Wind Generator
The WindShaper is a wind testing system composed of a matrix of small fan units called “wind pixels”, each individually controllable.
- Each module (25 x 25 cm) includes 9 wind pixels, with each pixel containing two counter-rotating fans.
- Multiple modules can be combined into custom sizes to build wind walls.
- This enables the generation of complex, 3D wind profiles such as gusts, turbulence, and shear layers.
- Standard configurations can produce up to 16 m/s (60 km/h) of wind, or over 55 m/s (200 km/h) with a converging nozzle.
- Highly customizable and scalable layout
- Dynamic wind shaping across space and time
- Compact and portable compared to traditional wind tunnels
WindControl: Advanced Control Software
WindControl is a web-based graphical interface that enables full control over the WindShaper modules.- Users can adjust wind speed and direction at the individual pixel level.
- A Python API is available for scripting, automation, and integration with third-party systems.
- Enables time-varying and spatially-distributed flow programming.
